Lancashire Lifesavers: Free life-saving CPR for local people

Free lifesaving CRP and defibrillator training is being offered to local people across Lancashire.
Lancashire County Council have teamed up with BBC Radio Lancashire and North West Ambulance Service to train up to 2500 people in CPR and defibrillator use throughout April and May 2018.
Approximately 30,000 people in the UK suffer an out of hospital cardiac arrest every year and currently only 1 in 10 people survive. However, if someone receives CPR very quickly following the cardiac arrest there is a significant increase in the chance of survival.
The free training sessions will run Monday to Saturday for four weeks from Monday 16 April until Saturday 12 May in different locations across the county. Training is open to anyone aged 11 and over, however anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. A booking must be made in order to attend a session. What is CPR?

CPR helps artificially keep the blood pumping around the body until medical help arrives.
The important thing is that whatever you do you cannot do it wrong or put them in a worse position – with a little bit of training you could help save a life.
