Views sought on hearing aid service

Do you or someone you know wear a hearing aid? We want your views on how the service can be improved.
People with hearing aids, and carers of people with hearing aids, are being invited to help local commissioners make improvements to the audiology (hearing aid) service.
NHS Blackburn with Darwen Clinical Commissioning Group and NHS East Lancashire Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) are reviewing the service and want to understand what does and doesn’t work well with the current provision. They also want to listen to suggestions about how the service could be improved for the benefit of patients in Lancashire.
In order for patients and carers to share their knowledge, experience, best practice and ideas to inform improvements to the Lancashire Audiology Service, two events have been arranged locally:
- 23 June, 1pm to 3pm, Blackburn Library, Town Hall Street, Blackburn, BB2 1AG
- 26 June, 1pm to 3pm, Walshaw House, Regent Street, Nelson, BB9 8AS
Dr Adam Black, clinical lead at the two CCGs, said:
"As health commissioners, it is important we listen to what users of our services tell us. The information and views that are shared during these events, alongside other professionals and service views, will be fed in and used to make improvements to the Lancashire-wide Audiology Service
We want to ensure that patients play a central role in improving services and that, wherever possible, any changes will reflect the views of patients and carers.
The focus group will be presented with information about the service and be given the chance to feedback their views on the proposed improvements."
